Today at Olaf's we were discussing vintage clothing sizing, which can be quite confusing at times as sizes of clothing made today are very different than say a suit or a dress made many years ago. According to the CDC, Americans on average are now 1 inch taller and 25 pounds heavier than they were in 1960. Sizes have been adjusted to accommodate this change. For example; today, a woman who wears a size 8 would wear a size 12 or 14 in 1940. So when you find that perfect vintage item here at Olive's and Olaf's, don't pass it by due to the size on the tag. Ask us for the measurements, or even better yet come on in and play dress up!
